If left to your own resources, how would you handle the problem of sin and evil? The choices mankind selects are as numerous as the number of boarding gates at DFW airport. Some go to morality, philanthropy, even church, but a life of religious good works won’t make you a Christian any more than going to the Super Bowl will make you a professional quarterback.
God’s answer is simple: go to the right gate . . . accept His “boarding pass”. He has provided the right aircraft for the soul . . . He has paid for the fuel . . . He has the right navigational and communications equipment . . . He can take you home. From John 3:16 we read,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”
The consequences of a “self-directed flight”? . . . the payoff for your sin is death . . . physical and spiritual . . . forever separation from the Maker of your soul.
This is David “JB” Miller reminding you that relationships that matter always come at a cost. Heaven’s justice demands a death for your sin. Heaven’s love, however, can’t bear to see you die. Right when our resources were vastly over-matched, Christ came to earth to die for us . . . to be our Savior . . . from a myriad of choices to go to . . .
. . . destination elsewhere.
