My LifeVerse
Here is My Servant whom I have chosen…in His Name the nations will put their Hope. Matthew 12.21 (NIV)
Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Romans 8.34 (ESV)
My LifeNotes
My mom went within the gates of heaven in October 2012 – she was an incredible force in my life. She was a writer. Of letters, cards, notes, scribbles in devotionals and that is where today’s post originates. In the pages of H.A. Ironside’s The Continual Burnt Offering devotional. July 31…her big scrawly handwriting “Jesus pray for me. 1997”
Since reading I have changed the way I pray, “Jesus pray for so and so, such and such – Your Word says You intercede on our behalf, let it be, Lord.”
My LifeLesson
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat; but I have prayed for you that your faith will not fail; and when you have turned back, strengthen your brethren.” Luke 22.31-32
Could anyone’s prayers be as powerful as Jesus’ Himself? I think not.
The One Whose Name Is Hope prays for me.
My LifePrayer
Father God, in the Name of Jesus who is my Hope, continue to pray for us – continue to intercede on behalf of us. Just like Simon Peter we can get confused and in a knot – tempted to turn away or to lose sight of You and Your Word. We are tempted to lose trust and hope but You O Lord hold the words of life – You came so we can have eternal life with You and a victorious witness here on earth. Help us O Lord we need You. Amen.
