For in You, O Lord, I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God. Psalm 38.15
As a Mom to three kids and two grandkids, I have had ample opportunity to cry out to God. When my heart becomes heavy and my hands are useless to do a thing – I go to the Hope-Giver because I know He hears. Mom’s are fixer’s but there are events and situations that even a loving Mom cannot fix. Those are the times our Heavenly Father calls us to go to Him – He is the only One who can do something. Jesus is Hope in an earth suit! He walked upon this earth offering hope!
It was another adult child issue. The ends were unraveling and everything seemed doomed. I went for a walk up our country road and cried out to the Lord for an answer. A plan. An idea. Anything! “Father God, in Jesus’ Name, tell me what to do.”
To which He clearly said, “You are to do nothing.”
Next morning in my devotional reading these scriptures: Sit still, my daughter…Ruth 3.18 and Take Heed, and be quiet; do not fear or be fainthearted. Isaiah 7.4
Father God, in Jesus’ Name, I ask You to give us the grace to trust You more. Even in the hardest of times, to trust more. To trust the one we call Hope and know with confidence that Hope hears! You hear us when we cry out to You and even when the response is silence, the grace to know that You are working on our behalf. O Lord, these are hard things – but we know You are the God of Hope who hears. Amen.
