It’s been his hands all along…
It’s been him… all along.
Happy Father’s Day
We have settled into Empty Nester-hood and are fully embracing our new roles of Mimi and Papa.
Over the past few years, as the house grew quieter, we find that we have been doing a lot (more) hand holding… while going for a walk, or sitting outside, or relaxing in the house.
Fingers intertwined, breathing in sync, simply reconnecting. We are finding a new rhythm to the way our hearts beat together, just us. (thump, thump.)
So in honor of Father’s Day this weekend, and in honor of My Honey –and so many other men who have poured into my life, I say Happy Father’s Day!
As we celebrate our Dad’s and husbands, and in-laws, etc. may we also remember to celebrate the men who may not be Father’s, but who father us even still! May we acknowledge the men around us who are brothers and friends, neighbors and pastors and co-workers who invest in us and in our kids.
And may we acknowledge the incredible women out there who are both mother AND father… Happy Father’s Day to you too, single Moms!
We see you, and we are awed by you, and we honor you –men and women who flow out of the Father’s heart!
And we say thank you!
