struggling with loss. Perhaps you’ve never gotten back to the place where you once were. Perhaps you’ve lost your dream and you’re still at a grieving point in your life. And I want you to know that God cares about your grief and your pain, but He also wants you to believe Him to be able to turn your situation around.
In a moment, God can come in and totally shift what is going on in your life. He can reverse the x-ray. He can reverse the doctor’s report. He can reverse your financial loss. He can bring back the one that you lost. He can switch everything and He can shift it at any given moment. God has the ability to order circumstances, appointments, angels . . He can connect you with the right people and totally, totally change your life in a moment.
Your worst moment can become your greatest victory.
In Psalm chapter 3, David penned these words … “Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him. But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.” – Psalm 3:1-4
God wants to answer you . . will you take the time to ask Him personal questions? When you ask a question . . . remember to shut your mouth and focus on listening. When you ask God a question, be sure not to ask Him five questions because He may give you an answer to number three and you’ll think its number one leaving you in a state of confusion.
Remember when You inquire of God, He may require something of You!
When King David was in trouble, before reacting in pure emotion, he asked the Lord this very simple question, “Shall I pursue?” I love to use this phrase often and anywhere when folks present their problems to me: “When you ask God for an answer He’ll answer you with a strategy”.
Human nature normally dictates that we want God to fix our problems, remove them, eliminate them . . never to be seen again. So many of us want an answer, but many times the answer God gives you is a strategy to confront your problem versus a divine suspension of the problem.
When you inquire of God, He will require something of you, something that is rarely easy. If you could do it alone you wouldn’t need Him. You have to ask yourself this question, “Why serve a God that can’t do miracles?” God is a miracle working God. He does incredible things . . and many times those incredible things starts in the natural. The miracle happens because of something you step out and do by faith alone.
Want to grow up in Christ? You have to inquire . . you have to pursue . . you have to chase down the enemy. You unclaimed promises and provision. You have abundant provision. You have gifts that are yours. You have children that God desires to save. It’s the time to pursue the promises of God!
You Can Recover All
“In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord, When they hear the words of Your mouth. Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, For great is the glory of the Lord. Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
I just love David’s account about his distress on a dark day in Ziklag become a defining moment of triumph . .
“In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul.”
Think about the phrase “made me bold with strength in my soul.” When faith unites with God’s Word, your soul is supercharged with God. All you need is a word from God that settles deep in your heart . . a word that has a hand-hold for belief. When God speaks, it’s like the lights come on . . your life literally changes in an instant. Then think about David’s next words . .
“You will revive me . . save me . . [and} perfect that which concerns me”.
Think about that for just a minute. Nothing is impossible with God. So the question becomes, what unzips our faith and zeal for the Lord in all of the Ziklags of our lives? How do we remain a slave to defeat and despair . .too weakened in our faith to produce anything but anger and bitterness . . especially when we serve a God who can recover all?
Well, let’s see, let’s check David’s resume: He slept with a married woman. He murdered her husband. He cowered to fear. He became detached from virtually every relationship in his family . . but on the day of his greatest distress, He found strength in the Lord to prevail in hand to hand combat over a two day period.
“Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. So David recovered ALL that the Amalekites had carried away and David rescued his two wives. And NOTHING of theirs was lacking, either small or great.”
Perhaps you have lost a job . . or your health . . or a precious relationship . . but I can tell you this, God’s going to use your life . . and use it for His glory in a way that you would have never known. . because on your day of distress . . you choose to seek out the One who can make all things new.
The enemy wants…
to cripple you in the defining moments of your life . . especially in times of great distress . . and he wants to do it with confusion and unbelief. If you are there, you might be asking if you really have a relationship with God . . maybe at this moment you are beginning to understand just what it means to surrender your life to Jesus Christ. Know this . . God wants you to serve Him . . He wants you to settle that . . and He has the power to erase all the doubts and confusion that have captured your mind and soul.
You might be asking how to regain your passion for prayer. You’ve lost your passion to spend time with God and your passion for His Word . . and most of all, you have lost your peace. God wants to give you your peace back. And He wants you to recover all.
Great news…He is waiting for your brokenhearted inquiry right now.
He is more than prepared to turn your worst defeat into your greatest victory.
Now, it’s your turn. In the comments below share how God has turned things around for you.
