At a speaking event for young moms, I asked those in attendance if they would sing the song, “Jesus Loves Me.” Most in the audience quickly sang without hesitation.
I then asked them to sing making the song personal, to truly grasp they were loved by Jesus. The group was silent for a moment, and then their words came out haltingly almost as though they couldn’t believe it was true for themselves.
Do you know you are loved by God, that Jesus truly loves you? If you hesitated, I understand. I’ve had many, many, many times I thought God couldn’t love me. I didn’t think I deserved His love because of some of the things I’ve done or thought. I deserve to be burnt toast, punished, cast aside, and cast out, but God still loved and still loves. And, God still loves you regardless of what you’ve done.
God gives second chances. God’s love never fails even when we fail. So, would you take a moment to say the words, “God loves me. Jesus loves me.” Now point to your chest and say it again, “God loves me. Jesus loves me.”
Regardless of how you are feeling and regardless of your circumstances, please smile and say again, “God loves me. Jesus loves me.”
God’s love is perfect love, love beyond the most gentle touch, the sweetest kiss, and the warmest embrace. Look at the magnificent mountains, the beauty of the sunset and sunrise, the sands on the beach, and the blue of the ocean, and you have only glimpsed part of His love.
Take the most tender love ever known and multiply it by infinity and perhaps, just perhaps, you will begin to understand the love of God. No matter how rich the human love, nothing and no one will love us as much, and no one can show us more that we are loved than God. God’s love is faithful, compassionate, gracious, magnificent, infinite, overflowing, unfailing, and indefinable.
When your heart is placed in The Hands that made your heart, your heart is always safe and forever loved.
