Hebrews 4:12 – For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of the soul, and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
There are seasons in life, that take you and rattle you around. Leaving you weak and lowly in spirit. Where your soul feels heavy, and all you can do is cry out to the Lord. They may be short or they may be long. Each season looking different for each individual or family.
This has been where we are. Struggling to walk through a difficult season of parenting our youngest. How to proceed? Praying for wisdom for our decisions and ultimately crying out to the Father.
Honestly, I’m emotionally drained and physically. My heart is heavy and I feel quite helpless. But maybe that is where I’m suppose to be because it has left me at the feet of my Father quite often these last few weeks. Crying out in moments of complete loss and frustration and also in the moments of quietness where I just don’t have anything left except for to cry my heart out to him.
Have you ever been there too?
It is in this moments, that I treasure the Word of the Lord. In my weakest moments, the verses I have read whisper back promises of the Father. They break down the lies and the chains that start to build up when I’m vulnerable and open to attack by the evil one.
You see the Word of God is alive. It is active and sharper than any two-edged sword according to the author of Hebrews. If you read it, it stays with you. It pierces through the darkness and becomes the light in the battle for hearts. The Word, comes rushing in, to break the temptation that we face. Even Jesus while in the desert quotes Scripture, we see this in Matthew 4.
The words that flow off the pages of the Bible they are our Savior speaking to us. It is one of the ways He communicates His story and love to us. It’s the commands He gives us, the truths and promises that He wants us to know. They tell us the great mystery that was revealed and they tell us what is to come. You see these words are sacred. They hold so much in them, yet so often we forget and take them for granted. Oh dear friends, if only I could encourage you a little in this season of heartache or brokenness it would be one thing. Open your Bible. Hold on to the truths that are written not the lies that you are listening to.
I promise that His Word will endure. I promise that if you are desperate and in need of anything, that Jesus is all you need. His words are peace and comfort to the brokenhearted. They show us what true love is all about – that He will never ever leave us.
So if you are broken, emotionally spent. If motherhood has become rough and you are lost – open the Word of Truth my dear friends, I promise it never disappoints.
