Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God.
So what will you do
with mercy this Christmas?
Have you had that “one most important” meeting with God’s mercy?
We are all born into this world as sinners who are at a relationship-impasse with the God of mercy,
so sooner or later He will by design take you to a life-changing event where you experience
a harsh reality which reflects your spiritual status before Him apart from His mercy: helplessness.
A first time dad who was about to lose his newborn baby girl go to that point . .
“‘God, what am I supposed to do? I’m helpless.’
God said, Believe. I remember thinking, Believe what?
And loud and clear, ‘Believe that you will bring Ella home alive and well’.”
The promise of Christmas?
Life can overcome death, peace can replace panic, hope can swallow up helplessness . .
you can find forgiveness, unconditional love and new life in Christ . .
if you will only believe.
Hearing his voice right now? –
then get up and go tell the first soul you find,
“Jesus is going to bring me home alive and well!”
And never forget . . it is Christmas when we are reminded that the Gift of Mercy
not only came when least expected, but looks us in the eye and says,
“I came for you”.
Soak that truth in this December
and have yourself a very “mercy” Christmas!
