His Cafe exclusive “Choices and Growth” can be found below . . BUT FIRST . .
the Cafe thought you just might want to know how an Encouragement Leader
like Thomas McDaniels has himself been encouraged in his own faith recently.

In his own words . . .

We are in a great season.
Just a few months ago we were without a Worship Pastor and lost 2 other staff members.
We were overworked and carrying concern.
Fortunately we begin a more focused prayer season and in a number of weeks
God began to answer our prayers.
He brought us an incredible Worship Pastor and our church caught the fire of a vibrant young man
that is anointed to lead His people into a powerful worship experience.
Our faith is exploding and our church is as well.
Another great time to wonder why we doubt!

Today’s Find It Only Here On Friday
“Choices and Growth”
by Thomas McDaniels

All of life is about growth …

Life begins in the womb and a child grows and develops from the seed of a man and the womb of a woman.  Then the child enters this life. We call that birth.  At birth we begin to see a child grow.  We could call this the journey of life. It is natural and spontaneous. It is also amazing and filled with seasons of joy and sorrow, ups and downs, and mountains and valleys.

Life is a journey filled with amazing moments that we can capture and grow or we can choose to remain the same.

A journey is defined as an excursion from one place to another, a passage through to a specific destination.  I am of the persuasion that God has a distinct journey for us and in that journey we are to grow and to personally experience His purpose for our lives.

Growing is not isolated for those who know Christ or those who do not. In many aspects of life growing is just that…life.  Everything living is growing (even if you do not want to). Without effort we are growing toward physical death and leaving this earth. Growing cannot be stopped but how we grow and what we grow is determined by US!  And everything growing is changing!

The Power of Choice …

The greatest freedom God gave us is the power to choose. Choices are BIG! Choices make us and break us.  Choices determine our tomorrow by our today.  Choices establish our true desires and clarify our greatest intentions.

You are not a winner or a loser, but a CHOOSER!

Choices matter. The power and ability to choose may the biggest factor in determining the overall condition and position of our life.

Choices of Life …

  • The choice of faith determines how I live
  • The choice of career determines my work environment
  • The choice of where you live determines the climate you will enjoy or endure
  • The choice of church attendance determines your normal weekend schedule
  • The choice of values determines your daily behavior and activity

Do you see the importance of your choices?  Choices determine how you live.  Choices determine all outcomes.  Choices are the travel plans because they chart the course.

  • Choices seal off possibilities or unlock adventure.
  • Choices unlock divine moments
  • Choices reveal truth.

God began his relationship with man by giving Adam the right to choose. Adam reveals to us that we often choose the wrong thing. Our choices are the evidence of our heart. They reveal both our strengths and weaknesses.  The show our dark side and reveal our strongholds.

God says that He sets heaven and earth before us as a witness and that He has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing.  He goes on to say; therefore CHOOSE life.  Don’t we wish it were that easy?  You see choices are not always easy.  Wouldn’t we rather God say; do this or I will kill you.   This would leave no room for us to be responsible and take away our demand to make a choice.

Wouldn’t we rather God say; do this or I will kill you.

It is true that what we choose; chooses us!

If you choose anger, you get anger.  If you choose joy, you get joy. if you choose to grow spiritually, you get spiritual growth.  But honestly, many just choose to be saved and inherit heaven rather than journey into knowing God and experiencing spiritual growth.

All journeys have encounters in the travel …

In the journey we encounter a variety of circumstances, issues, and struggles.  Many believers go through life and fail to turn their experiences into experience.  Many have the tendency to skip the lessons of life and just do life.  Rather than thrive in these struggles we choose to only survive.

“Choices are the key to new seasons,
open doors and a change of life.”

– Thomas McDaniels –

God desires that we trek with him through every situation and use every situation as a growing moment.

Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation.
– I Peter 2:2

Notice the word “long” in the text above? It is a key word. Long means to desire, to yearn. God shows us a key to spiritual growth begins with a choice.  Before you learn a verse.  Before you do anything, God is showing us a key to spiritual growth is to choose the right things.

Choose…what you desire!  So in your salvation experience your growth experience is established and embellished by a choice.

Our Struggle …

Now, here is the struggle. Many just go through life.  Many in the church resemble Rip Van Winkle.  Rip went to sleep and woke up 20 years later.  This so resembles many in the church, rather than grow in grace we choose to sleep in the pew and 20 years later we have encountered little or no spiritual growth. This is truly against the choice and command of God.  This is certainly not God’s best for US!

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
– II Peter 3:18 –

The word “grow” means to increase or expand.  The choice to grow means giving attention to life from God’s perspective. God desires for His people to grow, to expand, and to develop His character.  This is only possible by choosing things that enhance our spiritual growth.

This journey begins with a genuine experience to choose Christ and journey forward to learn about the Holy Spirit and His role in your spiritual journey.

Choice and Choices …

One of the most beautiful choices about choice is that it provides us with the ability to regularly change our life.

Even this is a choice.  Bad choices can be reversed.  Hard seasons can turn around. Choices are the key to new seasons, open doors and a change of life.

Make the choice today to get moving in the journey that God has predestined for you!

I would love to hear how you discovered your own spiritual growth and the ways to enhance it.
