When it comes to getting close to the Christ of Christmas . . who came to get close to us . . many will just quietly take a “pass” . . and respond in heart and mind . . “Naw, I’m good”.
Ironically, the cross of Christ underscores the un-politically correct truth of Christmas . . we aren’t good enough . . we’re not even alive! Ephesians 2:1 tells us . .
“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins”.
Then Christmas explodes on the scene and our earthly “BUT ONE” excuses are enveloped in one giant heaven-sent “BUT GOD” demonstration of love . . .
“BUT GOD demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
A BUT GOD birth in Bethlehem occurred so that something could be born in our heart that cannot be found anywhere else . .
“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will . . . but born of God.” – John 1:12-13
This is David “JB” Miller with a question: Can you hear the heartbeat of Christmas? . . Is God’s voice reminding you that the One who was tempted to “pass” on trust towards the Father in heaven in every we are never once said “Naw, I’m good” (Hebrews 4:15).
Jesus Christ’s sinless, flawless, holy life and His willingness to die on a cross . . is His gift to you . . the ONE GIFT that can once and for all make you . . .
. . good enough!Encouraged by this post? You just might want . .
